Rising from the lush green banks of Kastellet's moat, St. Alban's Church has stood as a symbol of Anglo-Danish connection since its consecration in 1887. Spearheaded by Princess Alexandra of Denmark and her husband, the future King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, this Victorian Gothic sanctuary was built to serve Copenhagen's growing English-speaking community. Today, its striking spire and traditional Sussex flint façade offer a timeless slice of British heritage set against Denmark's historic waterfront.
