Östermalmstorg station, completed in 1965, lies in the heart of the city’s poshest and most expensive borough: Östermalm. Siri Derkert’s sketches adorn the station walls with delicate black lines on light colored cement surface. They symbolize peace, the fight for women's rights, and the environmental protection. Derkert was 77 years old when the station opened.
