100 m (330 ft) wide and a drop of 44 m (144 ft) down to the canyon Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, Dettifoss is the second largest waterfall in Iceland in terms of volume discharge. It is also reputed to be the second most powerful waterfall in Europe after the Rhine Falls. The upstream Selfoss can be barely seen on the far left of this picture.
