Bosque del Apache NWR is located central New Mexico, only about 2 hours south of Albuquerque. It is probably the most well known NWR's in the US for the large flocks of migrating birds as well as its large and effective volunteer effort. The pictures in this gallery were taken during a two-hour trip to this NWR in late March. Most of the winter migrating birds have already left the refuge and on their way up North.
