During the winter doldrums of 1971, we were treated to a performance by a USO troupe that was making the rounds of the radar sites in Alaska. None of us wanted them to come to Cold Bay, but they came anyway. Ha! Needless to say, there was a full house in our rec room that day. There is one thing about this photo that puzzles me. In the background is a pair of steer horns. Wouldn't a caribou rack be more fitting for our rec room on the Alaska Peninsula? Someone was homesick, ya think!
