This is Walt's version of the rear-end of my first car, a 1962 Plymouth Valiant. It was a bare-bones vehicle with a standard shift transmission, no air conditioning and not even a radio! Dad went with me to buy my first car, so he had a lot to say about what he thought I should buy. He told me the fewer amenities a car had, the less likely it was for something to go wrong. I wanted a loaded used Mercury, but he talked me out of it. One of the first things I did was to buy a transistor radio (remember those?) to set on the dash!
