1930's again. During that time my father was obviously trying to develop a comic strip that would catch on. Boppo was one of his prominent characters. Even as a boy, I was fascinated with that period of Dad's life when he was trying to juggle dealing with the Great Depression and starting a career as a cartoonist. I was sad, too, that he was not able to fulfill that dream. However, I am glad now that he left this story to reflect upon and to share with others. Dad did leave even more of a certain mark. As a boy, I once flirted with the thought of becoming a cartoonist. Likewise, my son Mike did the same. It must be something in the blood.
