Trout Creek was one of our fishing areas, but not my favorite. I never caught a fish there, but some of the other airmen were more fortunate. Once, when we were driving back to the site from town, we saw an incredibly beautiful rainbow. We stopped the truck to get a picture, running to the top of a hill for a better view. Alas, by the time we got to the top of the hill the rainbow was gone. I took a picture anyway, after having worked so hard to get there. The water of Cold Bay was barely visible in the background at the point where the hills made a "V." The radar site's weapons carrier was parked down by the creek, so there must have been somebody fishing at that time.
