At the door of the radar station motor pool, the group prepared to leave. Starting from the left, they are Sgt. Bryant; who was at our site temporarily working on a civil engineering project; Ned Heathershaw, a civilian working on the same project; and Lt. Gene Smith, leaning up against the truck. In back of him was Jack Quirk, the commander’s son who was visiting here before he started college. Holding the camera was Staff Sgt Bill Webster, a cook in our kitchen. Telling him something about the camera was MSgt Daniel Oxford who was the NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge) of Civil Engineering. Counting myself, there were seven that went on the trip to Morzhovoi Bay in May of 1970.
