On the walls were four tapestries that I bought to make my room more "homey." The two-way radio allowed me to stay in contact with the site while away on my excursions. I used an audiocassette recorder to tape messages for home, and to listen to those that I received. I also listened to my music that I had taped from vinyl record albums before going to Alaska. The artists for those albums were Johnny Cash, my favorite; Paul Mauriat; Tom Jones; several classical composers; and others that I liked at that time.
