A small room doubled as the Officers' Club and as a sleeping area for visitors. As there were only four officers assigned to the site in 1970-1971, the room had very little value as a club. Only a handful of times was it used for socializing. One of those occasions was a small going-away dinner for the Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Quirk. The NCOIC of the Kitchen, TSgt Tom Roberts, prepared a caribou roast that was awesome! A fifth officer on station at the time of this dinner was a Major in Great Britain's RAF. If I remember correctly, his last name was Wilson. He was at Cold Bay only briefly for observation of some sort.
