One of three area volcanos was located on Unimak Island to the west. Named Mt Shishaldin, and about seventy miles away, the volcano was shaped almost perfectly like a cone. Shishaldin smoked every time I saw it, not to say that I saw it often. I suppose the cloud cover over the islands was even denser than at our position on the peninsula. Except on rare occasions, our view of Shishaldin was obscured. The mountain in the center was one we called "Castle Mountain".
