Here are a few photos of the flowers we saw on the island of Maui. I had high expectations of taking a LOT of flower photos on this vacation. However, I totally forgot that Hawaii has wind, and LOTS of it.

Taking sharp close-up photos requires fairly long exposure times, a tripod, and a shutter release cable. I had the tripod and cable. I also had the wind. Even a little movement would make a blurred picture. Here in Hawaii, the wind was enough that the flowers moved alright - they moved right out of the viewfinder! I got a couple good shots, but not nearly as many as I was hoping for.
