無軌電車是一種使用電力推動，在道路上不依賴固定軌道行駛的巴士。
而使用的電力一般是透過架空電纜，經車上的集電桿(辮子)取得。
無軌電車因為使用的輪胎是絕緣體，不像有軌電車可使用路軌完成電路，故此需要使用一對架空電纜及一對集電桿“小辮子”。

雙源電車:近年在北京旅遊，發現無軌電車經過沒有架空電纜的道路都可以行車!
因為北京無軌電車有電池儲電，提供第二電源，方便無軌電車行過長安街/東單路口等無電纜路段時能夠照常通過。
