We'd been following this girl for a while as she moved through the bush, hunting for some game. In this image, she has just smelled something interesting in the bushes - perhaps the sign of another leopard. Her expression tells the rest of the story.
I chose this composition because it is unusual - usually we prefer to shoot from the front of the animal, instead of the dreaded butt shot. But this is what I had to work with at that moment - I waited for her to turn her head, almost "coquetish ingenue" style, and caught the moment. I chose a narrow depth of field (I did so because I don't like to go that much higher in ISO and I needed the shutter speed for the focal length - and I placed the focus point on the eyes; which left a very pleasing transition along the animal from out of focus tail to tack sharp in focus eyes.
