Grandma rejoins the other Charleston Lioness. This is a stage in the ritual greeting. Immediately prior to this photograph, Grandma had been running across the meadow as she saw a lioness and didn't recognize that it was her buddy - when they got within 5 feet of each other they recognized each other and started the head rubs and body rubs that accompany any greeting by lions.
Grandma had been down by the river looking for the missing cub, then she made a beeline over about 3 miles of territory for a reunion with her fellow lioness and cub. Some kind of natural GPS.
