OK, I'm really fishing here for a photo to post--obviously. There have been people that have taken photos of their eyes and posted them on this photo hosting site and I always thought they were kind of cool so when I got the new camera, I thought I'd try to duplicate it. Well the full-framed photo is nothing to speak of but the cropped photo--well, this is it, and I think it looks pretty cool so that's my post for today.
Today I called my friend Nora, who has moved out of town to Columbia City, half way to the beach, to see how her move is going. She called me the other day because she was at the old house and wanted to go get something to eat. But I declined as I had just eaten and the thought of food did not do a thing for me. Also, it was getting late and I needed to go to Jazzercise in a couple hours. So the next best thing to being there is talking on the phone. I have never been to Columbia City but hope to be making a trip sometime in the very near future.
I didn't do a whole lot today. Slept in until 9am, paid a few bills on-line, sat outside on the patio with the kids (Gillie and Phoebe) and read my book, listened to some music, and watched a bit of TV. All in all, a pretty uneventful day.

August 28 marks the date seven years ago that we adopted our Gillie Girl into our family. Supposedly she was three years old at that time, so that makes her ten years old. She’s a pretty good dog for the most part and, along with Phoebe, will miss me when I go back to work on Wednesday. I think they have enjoyed having me home to let them in and out all day long.
I also did some other errands today—took three expensive pairs of wool socks that I never wore on my trip back to Copeland’s at Clackamas Town Center. Then I negated that credit when I had to get gas for my car. But then again, I hadn’t bought gas since 8/3 so I guess that’s not too bad. I also stopped by the UPS Store to drop off some really expensive pants I was returning to LL Bean. I found other comparable pants at 1/3 the price at Andy & Bax when Nora and I went shopping before my trip. If I never wear those other two pairs, I’m still ahead of the one pair from LL Bean. I just couldn’t justify keeping those expensive ones.

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch with these fine ladies from Jazzercise. Wendy used to be our instructor but she quit to pursue other interests. Some of us hadn’t seen her since her last class a few months ago, so it was really good to see her again.

Then on the way home from Jazzercise in the evening, I saw a fabulous sunset so I took a quick snap from my car window as I merged onto the freeway.
I guess it's a fitting way to end my Sabbatical Blog--with a sunset--as I have to go back to work tomorrow. I will continue blogging though whenever the mood strikes me, and if something extraordinary happens in my otherwise ordinary life.
