Death in the Garden

Attack of the Butcher
I was woken up in the morning by the sound of something hitting my bedroom window - very hard.
When I opened the curtains, this is what I beheld.

It seemed a Grey Butcher Bird (Cracticus torquatus) had driven a Spotted
Turtle-Dove (Streptopelia chinensis) into my window at high speed.
The Butcher Bird immediately started to pluck feathers off its victim - some which it ate
- until it could pierce its skin and get at the flesh and gut.

The photographs are not really clear, due to being taken through the window glass.
