Tuzigoot NM is located on land once used by the company that mined copper in nearby Jerome (also worth a visit). Tailing ponds once surrounded the ruins, but the area has recently been nicely reclaimed. Tuzigoot was excavated in the mid-1930s with funding from the federal anti-Depression programs.
