Built in 1856 by Brigham Young to accommodate his family of approximately 27 women and 56 children! The house gets its name from the statue of a lion over the front entrance, seen in this photo. The house is located within walking distance of Temple Square and is adjacent to his other official residence -- the Beehive House. Young died here in 1877.
