On the SW corner of Temple Square. A Victorian Gothic congregation hall. Rough granite walls are laid out in cruciform style. Twenty-four spires. A main tower rises from the intersection of the floor plan's crucifix shape. It is built of quartz monzonite rock, the same as the Salt Lake City Temple. But, because it is unhewn the exterior looks very different. Construction began in 1877 and was completed in 1882.
