One of several museums in the city. The original building was constructed 1577 by King Maha Thamaraja (the 17th Ayutthaya monarch) for his son, who became King Naresuan. Long after its destruction by the Burmese, it was restored by King Mongkut, who stayed there whenever he visited Ayutthaya. The palace has been since renovated and on display are artifacts from the 13th through 17th centuries.
