To commemorate St. Olav, the anniversary of his death on the 29th July 1030 was, every year at the end of July in Trondheim the Olavs festival, a cultural festival is taken place.
The cathedral square turns into a medieval market with jugglers, musicians, pilgrims – and of course traders who offer all kinds of traditional treats in addition to kitsch and art.
And the city's stages host several concerts of national and international musicians.
