Oct 01: Watch dog

Archie likes nothing more than sitting on the front wall watching the world go by. He was out there all day today in the rain. I took this during a brief dry spell. He's still there now at 9pm - yes in the dark.

A border collie's got to do what a border collie's got to do -- namely keep a sharp eye out for something that needs to be gathered up and brought back to the barn. (My BC, when we're out for a car trip, stands on the middle console and constantly scans the horizon for potential things to herd. Beautiful picture.

Oh, he is so happy! My Sophie does the same thing, sit herself by the gate and lets everyone know she's there. I have to call her in at night...

Aww!! Though he's soaking, it looks like he must enjoy it very much.

A dog has to do its job and Archie looks like he does his well.
My dogs' jobs are to sit in the yard and make sure they bark at the world as it goes by. They take it very seriously.
