Apr 5: Self

PotD number 466. Self portrait, on stairs, with guitar. I've been toying with this idea for a while. The sunlight shines through the front door in the evenings. I like the effect of the light through the banister, but the angle is always wrong. So this was done with fake sunshine!

Looking serious is not necessarily bad. I know from experience: when I smile for the camera, I make this ear-to-ear grin that looks awful. I hate it. Not everyone can "put on a happy face." That's why I'm willing to accept this person just as he appears.

Figures I was thinking the same thing as Jeanne. You look so serious in your self-portraits. Could it be "hard" lighting? Nice job getting the "sunlight" to creep up the stairs. :)

You look like a rock star on a poster. Excellent photo David. the lighting is amazing, I love how it looks like it's creeping up on each side of the stairs. This is just perfect. And the guitar!!!
