Feb 26: Spy pigeon

Sitting at my desk, I looked out of the window to se this Wood Pigeon sitting on the neighbor's roof. He was watching me. The camera was next to me, but the long lens was downstairs. I crawled past the window, grabbed the lens, back upstairs I attached it to the camera, set it all up - iso 1600, cloudy WB, lens at 300mm Av mode, f5.6 - and he was still there. Got a series of 5 or 6 before something scared him away. But he's back there now, as I'm typing... watching, reporting back to Mr Blair no doubt!

Ok, ok it was me...

Not very good at it anyway, sorry. George said I wouldn't get caught.....

Caring face, open hand gesture.

Years of training it took, you know. Sit still on next doors roof they said, he'll never know you’re watching, they said. Well, I was only there five minutes. Saw me straight away.

And I had to wear this stupid bracelet……………..

Is he wearing a bracelet? you have fashionable birdies 'cross the pond!

He's the security guard I've posted outside your house for a week! Funny, I thought that security firm I rang sounded a bit cheap!!!

How funny. I'm sitting at the computer watching the birds in the tree outside my window right now. The only ones that'll hang around long enough for me to get a shot are the robins. I am hoping to catch another one for my pad today... we'll see. There are some little finches with orange beaks and mohawks. I love the black and white and bit of grain on your photo. Hope you're doing nothing you shouldn't be! ;)

Good story David, wonder were the bird came from, from the rings it must be a racer or homing pigeon.
