PotD No. 365

This is the 365th picture I’ve posted in this series. A picture a day every day for a year - although I once posted an illustration I’d done rather than an actual photograph...

I was out on Christmas morning walking the dogs with Linda. One particular path was strewn with empty drinks cans, mostly Coca-Cola. I took several pictures of them lying in the grass and bracken. Although none of them made PotD, it would have been apt image for Christmas day, the Coca-Cola company having popularised our modern standardised santa in the 30’s through Haddon Sundblom’s wonderful illustrations. The discarded Coke cans show the other side of the story.

So, now that Christmas is over, this crushed can can have it’s moment of glory before hitting the recycling bin!

I do hope you continue, I love your work, enjoy your commentary and also feel as I would lose a friend if you were to stop now...just as I was getting to know you....

Nice work, David, well done! Particularly like the reflection in this.
Congrats on finishing the year - you've done some great stuff - my favourite is the boy with the bubbles on the white background.
I hope you feel a good sense of achievement at the end of this year of photos!

Yep, Congratulations, David! I don't think many people are aware that you were the first one to do this. Well over 50 people have taken your lead and Jeanne is telling us that more will follow from the New Year and I'm sure she's right. So what will we see tomorrow? PoTD 366, 2004/1 - I hope its not a blank screen...

Congrats on making it to the 365 David! I'm about 11½ behind you and what a class act to follow. Please either continue (preferred) or at least keep the gallery together as I'll be clicking through for that much needed inspiration. Great shot too, love the colours and the lighting in this one, it's really spot on, you'll have to share your secret with me!

Congratulations! You've done it.

I really didn't think this would take off in the way it has. Still, as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. A full year of superb photos. I'd find it hard to criticise any of them....well, except for 'I will do better than this one' and the famous fried egg sandwich!

There are truly some works of art here though....many of my favourites are the ones with motion in them. I love the ones of the dogs - but that's for a different reason. I love the self-portraits because they are pictures of you.
