Aug 21: How I learned to stop worrying

How I learned to stop worrying and love my Mahalo.

Mahalos have a bit of a bad reputation on the Ukulale scene. Which is a little unfair. Sure the cheap brightly coloured ones are a bit iffy, but the wooden ones work quite well with a bit of help. This one was typical. It needed adjustments to the bridge saddle and nut, a lot of smoothing of the fret ends and a generous amount of Lemoil on the fretboard. It still wasn't right, there's a design fault with the saddle which means it'll never be perfect, but it's close enough now. So now I play it rather than play *with* it. And now the finish is wearing in nicely. The matt finish going shiny where I handle it most which makes it look loved and old. So I now I don't worry about its imperfections and just love playing it. Some it's burry though.
