Capitol of Texas

This gallery is a study on the Texas Capitol in the fog. I'm experimenting with various renditions of the same picture. Please comment on which of the pictures you like or dislike, and give reasons. If there is something you'd like to see processed differently, please share that as well, especially if you have suggestions for improvement.I've printed out a 13 inch by 19 inch print of a version close to the "Natural" one and alse close to the "Inked Large" one. In my opinion, although the inked version is very interesting in print (there really is too much detail for online viewing), the inked look ruins the foggy effect I was going for when I went out on the shoot. It serves, though, as a basis for the other pictures that have been amended from the "Natural" picture with a touch of ink.

So if I understand you correctly, your white to transparent gradient is in order to sort of paint fog (the white). Is this what you had in mind? -- Victor

I also create images from photos into computer art. Lot's of fun. I really believe that it is a true art form unto it's own right. Anyhow, I love the Natural shot. Even though It's a photo. One idea you might try is in photoshop create a duplicate layer and create a selection mask from the top to about half or somewhere in between two thirds of the photo. Then choose pure white from the color selector. Then see if you can apply a gradient from white to transparency inside the Selection mask. Then play with the transparency and Mode setup. I'm thinking that this might give you verying degrees of fog. You could also trace a selection around the lights and then cut and paste in place being carefull not to move the new light layer out of position. Then apply styles and add a inner glow or outer glow or both to varying degrees. Although, I might just leave it just like it is, a very nice Photo. You could probably sell this photo to a state publication of some type. Good luck,
