Yangshuo is a town surrounded by a remarkable landscape of “karst mountains” that rise dramatically among rice paddies and orange groves. Sometimes appearing translucent and having unique shapes, these mountains have inspired classic Chinese images in paintings and poetry.
Sightseeing boats ply the Li River to Yangshuo from the city of Guilin.
