We had really been looking forward to go to Vatersay. It is the southernmost and westernmost inhabited island in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, and the settlement of Caolas on the North coast of the island is the westernmost permanently inhabited place in Scotland and in Great Britain.

We crossed the small causeway and explored to our hearts' content. The sun was really smiling down on us that day.
