With three souls on board this 1962 Beech 35-B33 was conducting a sighting seeing tour over Lake Mead NRA and surrounding area. When the engine blew a rod, the pilot was able to make an emergency landing on a model airplane field within the park but could not stop from hitting the berm.
It was a surprise to see the plane fly low of the campsites only to shortly loose power. thankfully no injuries.
