Brownlee SK – Gone

On old friend was destroyed by fire last night. Initial thoughts are laying the cause at over heated bearings. This vator was built in 1922 by Ogilvie and purchased by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in 1959. In 1964 a 75000 bushel annex was added. Sometime in the 1990s it was sold to a private farmer who continued to us it, right up until yesterday, for his own crop storage.

Excellent perspective here! Love how you've used the tracks to full advantage. Yes....a shame these old girls slowly dwindle in number.

The vanishing point is very nicely chosen for this great image. V

These vators have been there for so long and then to have one destroyed so quickly is sad but at least you have captured them so they will not be forgotten. I love the POV on the rails...

What a pity... another bit of heritage gone! (I probably said exactly the same when you last recorded the passing of a vator).

It's always sad when another one comes down because you know it's not going to be replaced. Great capture and point of view Glenn.

Sad news for the farmer. Hope he had his vator fire policy paid up.
I like your low down on the tracks angle of view. Nice details and colors.
