Mechanicsville, Ohio

The Mechanicsville Road Covered Bridge was originally built in 1869 and is considered to be the oldest
in Ashtabula County. In a way it is among the newest since it was completely rebuilt in 2004 following
a long closure due to deterioration. Although some of the original timbers were salvaged, the main arch
and most of the flooring had to be replaced. I think it's lost a lot of its "rustic charm" in the process.

You would think these restorer's could figure out
how to paint something like this to keep the rustic weathered look.
