"Lake Erie Sunset" - Vic Cooke

A series of shots of this sunset proved the value of a polarizer in adding sky contast to a scene that otherwise tended to "wash out" at the level of light involved. Alternatively, a neutral density filter (didn't have one) might have worked. Needs slight rotation.

(All my pictures seem to need about 1 or 1.5 degree CW rotation working off the viewfinder edges as plumb/level references...think my Uzi's CCD must be installed askew by this much. Very difficult to compensate for accurately, so I've given up trying.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one having to rotate later. I never really tested it fully to see if it's the camera or me.

I think the slight "twist" is common to most users. I have found that the auto focus brackets can be of help. I use a ND filter and the polarizer stacked at times for these kind of shots. And the polarizer most of the other times.

Most of my shots need about 1 - 1.5 rotation CCW! It's just the way the camera rests most comfortably in my hand. I have to consiously over correct to avoid this.
