"Wow, almost the middle of Feb and people still do not have the christmas decorations down"

Can anyone hazard a guess as to what these were used for? Not the obvious!

Well at least you won't have to worry about submarines in the park, that's always a comfort. 8^)

Your right about the plum bob on the left it does look suspicious but I can assure you this is a real photo with no editing other than resizing. I dont know why it looks that way.I think the transparency you are seeing is actually a branch I took many other photos and they all look like that one?? Actually I looked again at other photos close up and yes it is a branch in front.

Anyway while I was taking these shots an older gentleman came over to talk with me and told me the Bouys were used to stretch steel cables from one side of the Harbour to the other to stop Submarines from entering the harbour during the war.The buoy in the middle shows where the cable went through on the bottom. He cut the other ones off for some reason or other.

Depth charges or wrecking balls.

Nice bright colours on a winter scene. Could be buoys but I doubt it, the one in the middle looks like a plum bob for big buildings. The cloning is a bit mysterious - plum bob on the left is party transparent, is without a complete chain - and what happened to the branch?

Don't know, but they sure are neat! Great picture. Looks as if our area is going to get our first real snow of this winter this weekend. Then again, it may only be flurries!
