The story behind this photo is something like the story behind this one: http://www.pbase.com/uzgroup/image/54042445

The difference was that I was using my new 600mm this time and the hawk was much farther away.. I was also shooting from the window of my car.

After following this hawk from tree to tree for about 8 trees (and just missing the shot before he took off again), I finally picked up "Big Bertha" (my 20D with the 600mm) and did a hand held shot.
Got him!!!

Quite frankly, I am amazed with the results. And even more amazed that I could hold Big Bertha for even one hand held shot.

Katherine, thishttp://www.pbase.com/britestar/image/55071041 is a photo that my hubby shot when I wasn't looking. "Big Bertha" is a BIIIIGGGGG lens. Just dragging her out of the car really makes me appreciate my Uzi days.

A stunning photo! The slight blur at the wing tips provides a feeling of motion.
Again, very nice Liz.
