Lorenzo's Hideaway
--------------------------------------
A low-quality, difficult shot with extreme backlighting, but an interesting place.
Major Lorenzo Carter was Cleveland's first permanent settler, buying two acres of land from
the Connecticut Land Company in 1796. Here in the "Flats" area along the Cuyahoga River he
built this (replica) cabin in 1797. It became such a gathering spot he later bought adjacent
property to build another home and turned this place into a successful tavern. Today the
Cleveland Flats district is one of the principal nightlife and "entertainment" areas in the city.
