I agree,sometimes I like blown highlights too.

Ah, but I liked the effect of the blown highlights - sometimes there has to be something wrong with a picture for it to be right :-)

A nicely composed study. Too bad about the blown highlights, did you use exposure comp? Bracketing and combining images would have taken care of the light and shadows too.
