Grass Fire!
Our neighbor was puttering and mowing so when I noticed the grass fire, I assumed he had given up on the mowing and decided to just burn it off. As I watched and the circle of fire grew larger, with no sign of the neighbor around, I got concerned but grabbed my UZI first. Then when the other neighbors started running over and I heard one yelling for his wife to call the fire department, I ran to Tom's house and banged on the doors. He came out running and said that the exhaust from his mower had evidently started the fire. He grabbed the garden hose and had it pretty well contained by the time the fire dept. got there. Whew, thank goodness. The fire was moving fast up the hill toward our yard.
Too much excitement!
