WV Creek Crossing

Outside Morgantown, WV

This was shot during a cycling race I shoot every year. The 70 miles of WV "backroads" creates some interesting shots! The "potholes" are large enough to swallow cars, riders have gone completely under muddy water! This was a creek crossing. In the previous years, the trickle of water was so low you might miss it if you blinked. This year was at the time of all the flooding in southern WV. This creek became a bit of a challenge. Only 3 cyclists made it across while riding. This was one of the support crew on motorcycle. Right after I got this shot, he had to go up a muddy bank. He got stuck part way up and just gunned it, resulting it flying mud... right in line with my remote camera on a tripod. Covered pretty good.

I shoot with 2. Usually use a wide angle on a Full Frame camera, and then a tele on the crop sensor camera to give extra reach. If I use a remote camera, it's the crop camera since I don't have remotes for my FF camera. Back when I was using the Uzi, I had 2 of those too! Had the B300 on one so I could just reach down and grab it if I needed more reach than the standard zoom.
