There are very few lights on this island. A young family hosted us with the best shrimp chaulefan
that I've had in Ecuador. When it comes time for us to leave, we walked out to the shore in the
dark. There were no canoes to take us back to the mainland. Fortunately, a small group of locals
were leaving the island so lent to us their canoe after they used it. The hosting family rowed us to
shore in almost complete darkness. I could not tell when water ends and when land begins!
