Biên Hòa, Việt Nam - Portrait of our hooch Mamma San -
She would arrive at our living quarters at the Army base, usually after we were gone to work. Our hooch would house about ten men.
Her duties included washing uniforms & bedding, starching, ironing, sometimes tailoring, polishing boots, making beds, cleaning and sweeping.
She came every day. At the end of my tour she presented me with this studio portrait and a delicious, intricately carved and decorated fresh pineapple. Wish I had made a picture of that.
