Pregnancy and Newborn Portraits

The journey of parenthood has many stages, and the ballooning belly is a sure sign the journey has begun. Capture the special feelings and uniqueness of your pregnancy with a Pregnancy Photoshoot. Depending on how you are feeling, this can be done in your home or at a location of your choice.

Then don't miss the beautiful 'newborn' look of your miraculous bundle of joy. This stage lasts about 2-3 weeks so the window of opportunity is short lived. You can make an appointment for the Newborn Portrait shoot before baby is born so you don't miss out.

When dealing with children or animals I have learnt to expect the unexpected, so I don't put a time limit on the sitting. This will give us plenty of time for rests, feeds, nappy changes and those unexpected things that keep all new parents on the hop. I like to use soft lighting for Newborn Portrait shoots, and it can be done in the comfort of your home. Mid morning is usually a good time for photographing baby.

Individual, Couples & Family

I offer a variety of portrait styles for you to choose from. I personally like the casual, relaxed outdoors approach but the choice is entirely yours. You can opt for studio photos in my home, a fun location shoot at the beach or park, or simply surround yourself with the comforts of your own home. My aim is to work with you to capture the essence of who you are right now.

If you are having your portraits taken outside, I suggest the late afternoon because the softer light will produce much more pleasing results. If the weather is inclement, or you wish to reschedule the day, please inform me as soon as possible so as to accommodate your new time.

One of the questions that is often asked is "What should we wear?"
Try to avoid large patterns and stripes as these tend to draw attention away from the subject - YOU!
Denim jeans and white shirt is always a winning combination. Bright block coloured shirts or dresses are pleasing to the eye as well. Whatever you decide to wear, make sure you feel comfortable and not self conscience - that feeling of unease with how you look will come through the photos.

Remember, we want to create images that will be treasured for years to come, so dress up, let your hair down and have some fun. IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!
