This image shows an old, boarded-up hotel in Harlem and the sign and mural perhaps reflect what is happening in this part of the city. The mural says, "My ability to adapt to change without much complaining." What does this mean? Does it mean that the gentrification of Harlem is reluctantly welcomed by the blacks even though they are well aware that the urban renewal is not really for them, but for the whites and Asians (at the university?) who want to see the neighborhoods cleaned-up?
