Snow Geese Migration

Squaw Creek NWR, Mo

ONE OF THE GREAT SPECTACLES OF NATURE IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN...
THE MIGRATION OF THE SNOW GEESE OUT OF CANADA. ONE OF THEIR RESTING
SPOTS IS SQUAW CREEK NATL WILDLIFE REFUGE, NORTH OF ST JOESEPH, MO.
UP TO 1/2 A MILLION MAY BE ON THE REFUGE AT ONE TIME. THEY STOP FOR
A FEW DAYS, REST & EAT, AND THEN FLY SOUTH. EAGLES TRAVEL WITH THEM AND
SEVERAL HUNDRED EAGLES ARE USUALLY THERE DURING PEAK MIGRATION. THE EAGLES
SEEM TO BE INTERESTED IN THE INJURED OR SICK, NOT THE HEALTHY GEESE.
SUNSETS AND OTHER WILDLIFE IS ALSO IN ABUNDANCE DURING THIS TIME.
