This was my first ferret, Chaos. He was a cinnamon "blaze" colored ferret. (Blaze refers to a stripe on the head) Blazes in ferrets come from a genetic defect called Waardenburg's Syndrome. WS caused Chaos to be deaf. (75% of ferrets with blazes are deaf.) In later photos, you'll see Chaos has little fur. This is due to adrenal disease, which is common in ferrets. Chaos, unfortunately, had adenocarcinoma (adrenal cancer) which is rare. (Only 4% of ferrets with adrenal disease with have carcinoma. Chaos had cancer for almost 5 yrs and did well despite the illness. He passed due to a combination of advanced age (he was almost 7 yrs old) and cancer.
