To summit the tallest point in Texas, it is a relatively easy walk up Guadalupe Peak . The path is about 8.6 miles round trip and a gradual 3000 vertical feet gain. From the top of Guadalupe Peak (8,749 feet), you have a great view of El Capitan and the Chihuahuan Desert below. This the high point of Guadalupe Mountains National Park (literally) and the view is well worth effort.
