Pennybacker Bridge, also known as the 360 Bridge, was opened for use in Decemember of 1982. Below the 600,000,000 pounds of steel flows the Texas version of the Colorado River. No part of the bridge actually touches the water 100 feet below.
In the springtime, the roadsides of the Capitol of Texas Highway (the 360 Loop) are often covered with Texas wildflowers. This bluebonnet image comes from the west side of the 360 bridge and has bluebonnets, coreopsis, and even a few Indian Paintbrush - a nice mix of Texas wildflowers.
