I spent many weekend afternoons in the 50s fishing off that pier. Never caught anything worth bringing home, it was just fun being out there. Lost a pocket knife once out there. The spaces between the planks on the pier were kinda wide. I dropped the knife, it bounced once and was gone!! As a kid you don't realize the importance of such places. I remember seeing pictures posted in the coffee shop of men standing next to HUGE fish they'd caught in the bay.
